Seasonal Fashion Forecast
The trends for 2009 are being touted as "understated chic." Maternity clothing
layered styles are fuller and softer, less structured, offering style and elegance
without the flash or price point.
Pretty print maternity dresses this season rise just above the knee. Asymmetrical
lines and an emphasis on one shoulder designs are popular, as are jumpsuits and
one-piece rompers. Jewelry's gone smaller in scale, yet bags are big, belts are
bulky, and shoes have stayed strappy.
Colors for spring are festive and bright. Orange has overtaken the popularity
of deep purple hues, ushering in the arrival of a more cheerful green, fuchsia
and lilac. Muted metallics and bright whites create the perfect canvas to build on.
Feeling comfortable while being pregnant never looked prettier.

Our TOP 10 Looks for Fall & Winter:
- Dresses still bloom in winter floral prints that wrap and flatter your
baby body style. From the simple dress for daytime to a fresh and flirty, floral that
flows, dresses remain a pregnant girl's best find.
- Anything but flat – this season's low profile shoes are colorful and fun. Another great
find is the ever versatile ankle boot – "a must-have for both long and short dresses."
- Bags, ladies, rule! - Day-bags are large and roomy, and some of the hottest have "an A-line,
north-south shape" with plenty of room for your necessities. Textured leather is hot!
- Make some head way – covering up bad hair days with a fedora or cap, add an extra long scarf to adorn your
neck and shoulders – you'll be sure to turn heads.
- Go wide - Trousers are flowing and wide, and with fabrics in pinstripes to satin you'll
transition from daywear to evening wear in dramatic fashion.
- Pretty lacey – From soft and feminine to downright Goth, designers like Prada are mixing this
heirloom accessory with fashions fit for boardroom to bedroom.
- Big tops are tops – blousy and pretty with ruffles or bows on the shoulder.
Layer yours with a vest and pair with your favorite jeans. It's a polished look that costs little or no effort.
- Embroidery & appliqué – Colorful handmade details remain in vogue giving basic
tops and bottoms a little something extra to show off.
- Denim's darker – Washed up are the lighter blues, today's jeans are going more indigo – and shapes
are beginning to loosen up.
- Brighten up! This season's colors have toned up and are anything but boring. Beige has gone camel,
and grey has gone fancy mushroom – bringing in hues of blues and purple. Spice up black and white with mustards and
berries.
Just like the season, your body is experiencing some amazing changes.
